Dressing like Diana, Princess of Wales or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is out-of-reach for most. However, by investing in the right perfume, almost anyone can smell like a Princess.  After a little research, I’m listing the favorite fragrances of the royals.  Many of these scents are mostly confirmed, but some are speculated, in regards to the favorite fragrance royal women chose to wear on their wedding days.

I.  Diana, Princess of Wales: ‘Quelques Fleurs’ by Houbigant Paris

Princess Diana

Diana’s favorite perfume, which she also wore on her wedding day, is immersed in legend. According to recent reports, the Princess spilled the perfume on her dress while applying it, moments before she was to walk down the aisle to marry Prince Charles.
Diana attempted to cover the stain while she was walking down the aisle. However, no one noticed as they were looking at the stunning bride.  The perfume, according to Fragrantica, contains top notes of orange blossom and citrus, while also including carnation, orchid, jasmine and lilac, among others.

Quelques Fleurs2.  Queen Elizabeth: ‘White Rose’ by Floris

Queen Elizabeth

The Queen has never released the name of her favorite scent, however, it is somewhat easy to guess what fragrance she may have worn on her wedding day.

According to The Telegraph UK, experts speculate that White Rose by British beauty company Floris is the Queen’s preferred fragrance. This is because it resembles the Queen’s favorite flower: carnations. This is supported to be because the brand has been a favorite of the royals for almost two centuries.  However, this is only an assumption, but who can imagine the Queen settling for anything less regal than Floris.

3.  Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge:  Illuminum

Duchess of Cambridge

Kate was confirmed by Clarence House to have worn this soft floral scent by small British fragrance brand Illuminum during her 2011 wedding to Prince William. The perfume, which was little-known before then, instantly became a global hit. According to Daily Mail, every single bottle in the 50mL size was sold out within minutes of the perfume being unveiled.

Daily Mail also reported that the Duchess of Cambridge requested that Westminster Abbey, the location of her wedding, be fragranced with her favorite Jo Malone scents. She purportedly requested Orange Blossom, Grapefruit and Lime, and Basil and Mandarin fragranced candles and toiletries from the famed English brand before her nuptials took place.

4.  Meghan, Duchess of Sussex: Diptyque

Duchess of Sussex

Luxury fragrance brand Diptyque revealed that they scented the royal wedding, after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry personally chose a selection of fresh and floral fragrances that were perfect for spring and for the momentous occasion.

The brand’s iconic candles and room sprays helped scent the spaces where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prepared for their special day, and the fragrances were also used to enhance the beautiful surroundings of St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The brand is unable to reveal the exact fragrances they supplied for the royal wedding.  However, here is something wonderfully spring-fresh from Diptyque: their Tubéreuse and Rose scented candles, pictured, and room sprays.
